Description:
|
WinAMP surely is the best known Mpeg
Audio player for Windows on the PC. While
the Amiga had whole bunch of Mpeg players
none of them had looked as stylish as
WinAMP. AmigaAMP offers two different user
interfaces. The first one is GadTools
based and font sensitive. The second one
is fully WinAMP skin compatible which
enables you to use standard WinAMP skins.
Skins are customizable textures consisting
of several bitmapped pictures. They
contain the the look of the window itself
as well as images for all the gadgets.
There are hundreds of skins currently
available from various sources on the
Internet.
|
Features:
|
- A real-time spectrum analyzer.
- An ID3 tag editor which enables you
to view and edit additional information
on your mpeg files such as artist,
title, album and so on.
- An alphabetically sorted
playlist
- Full AHI support to ensure Audio
Hardware compatibly.
|
The technical side:
|
To get AmigaAMP working on your system
you will need ppc.library v46 or later, as
well as an AHI system installed and the
latest mpega libraries in your libs
drawer. A Graphics card to provide a 256
(or more) color display is recommended if
you want to use WinAMP skins.
|
Overall:
|
AmigaAMP still has some bugs, but it's
probably the best PowerPC Mpeg player for
the Amiga and it's getting better. So if
you desire a good looking mpeg player that
plays your mpeg songs without a noticeable
system slowdown (and all that for free!)
then AmigaAMP is for you.
